Clothing – Shop Soon
From “farm to fashion”, we source our raw wool from local Ontario farms to create our clothing brand and household products. The fibre we use comes from free-range, grass-fed animals that roam on small, family-owned farms.
We ensure that no chemicals are used in processing, aside from soap and a pH-balancing agent in the wash water. The result? Clothing that feels as good as it looks; comfortable, soft, and made to last for years.
Rooted in the philosophy of ‘slow fashion’, every item we use is deliberately chosen; Ontario pebble and hardwood buttons, cotton thread, pure linen interfacing, metal zippers. Our products are designed to return to the earth as nutrients, not toxins at the end of their life cycle. By avoiding harmful chemicals, we create clothing that not only supports a healthier lifestyle choice for the wearer, but it also contributes to a more sustainable future for our planet.
Our designs are shifting so that even the need for elastic is being phased out. We are striving for a completely plastic free line. For example, using two layers of wool for rain protection, using unbleached linen for bug jackets, (the face net is the one place we still use a nylon, but we are continuing to explore alternatives).
To compliment our wool garments we produce a line of 100% unbleached linen clothing. Flax grows beautifully here in Canada, and Ontario once could boast of having 100 flax processing mills. All have disappeared. Until we again have local linen processing facilities, we are required to import the fabric. We have chosen unbleached Baltic linen for its quality, beauty and provenance.
